Marshall E. Wisner, 78, of Jefferson, Maryland, passed from this life on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family and friends.
Born on October 8, 1940, in Frederick, Maryland , he was the son of the late Harry Lewis Wisner, Jr. and Gladys Day (Mullinix) Wisner.
He was the husband of Janet Wisner, his wife of 45 years.
He graduated from Walkersville High School and proudly served in the U.S. Army.
Marshall loved his chosen profession as a plumber. In 1976, he established M.E. Wisner Plumbing and Heating, working continuously until his retirement in 2016. He truly enjoyed providing a service but more importantly he cherished the friendships made along the way. Knowing Marshall meant you had a dependable life long friend, he was always there to lend a helping hand. He also understood the importance of supporting his community in Jefferson and his church family. Marshall was a member of the Jefferson Ruritan Club, Jefferson Fire Company, the Frederick County Plumber Association and the Haven of Hope Tabernacle. Above all, Marshall was a devoted family man. He worked hard to provide for his family and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends never leaving without sharing his latest joke.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Teresa Brickhouse and husband Doug, Carolyn Kefauver and husband Eddie, Christine Ray, Aaron Wisner, and Hope Ray;
sisters, Fern W. Mercer and husband Ted and Ella V. Lenhart and husband Donald; brothers, Kenneth E., Fred A., Wayne E., Sr. and Glenn M Wisner; sisters in law, Joan and Nancy Wisner. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and his very dear friends, Charlie and Jane Smith of Jefferson.
Mr. Wisner was preceded in death by his brothers, Garnett L. and Meredith U. Wisner, sisters in law, Shirley and Janet Wisner.
The family will receive friends on Monday, October 15, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 N. Maple Avenue Brunswick, MD.
A celebration of Marshall's life journey will follow at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Brent Markee will officiate.
Interment will be at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Frederick, MD.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the building fund at the Haven of Hope Tabernacle, 117 Integrity Terrace Martinsburg, WV 25405.
