Marshall B. (Joe) Rice, 77, formerly of Mountaindale, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2015 at his home, in Clear Spring, MD. He was the beloved husband of the late Delores Y. Hann.
Born March 4, 1938 he was the son of the late Keefer Cornelius and Blanche Gertrude Linton Rice.
Marshall was a longtime employee of Kempf and Harris. He enjoyed spending time with his family and playing the guitar.
He is survived by his daughter Cynthia Starook, son James Misner, two grandsons; two granddaughters and a number of great-grandchildren; one brother Russell “Buck” E. Rice and two sisters Betty J. Shuff and Blanche “Hilda” Schildt all of Thurmont.
He is predeceased by his son John “Johnny” Rice a granddaughter Tracy Starook and grandson Douglas Starook, Jr. three sisters Mary R. Stockman, Rosa M. Smith and Daisy G. Smith and three brothers Cornelius “Ike” Isacc Rice, Adam D. Rice, Sr. and James H. Rice.
The family will receive friends at Stauffer Funeral Homes, 104 East Main St., Thurmont Friday, April 10, 2015 from 10-11AM where a service will begin at 11AM.
Interment will follow at Creagerstown Cemetery.
