Marsha Ann Hawbaker

Marsha Ann Hawbaker,81 of Blue Ridge Summit, PA passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 27, 2025.

She was born on July 4,1943 in Franklin County, PA. It was an honor and a joy for her to have that birthdate. She was the daughter of the late Maurice and Anna Geneva (Collins) Shindledecker.

Even though she wanted to be a carpenter with her father, after graduating from Thurmont High School she worked in the insurance field for 46 years.

She had a love for travel whether it was with family in a camper out west, flying or going on a cruise with her church and family. She was up for anything. Some of her travels she would share stories about included, Alaska, Germany, Austria, Belize and Hawaii.

Marsha enjoyed many pets over the years. She loved her cats and had many over the years. They were her family. Books were another love of hers. She could read one in a day or two.

Even though she was an only child she had people in her life that she considered more as brothers and sisters. Robert Troxell who was her uncle and Jack, Mike, Chuck and Greg Fox.

Her god children and their families, who all called her Aunt, are greatly missing her. Stacey Ridge (niece/cousin) with husband Luther and Adam and Aaron and their families. Amy Balinski with her husband Dan and Gavin and Matt. As well as Travis Phillips. She also had a special niece Emily Ridge. There are many other family that lovingly called her Aunt Marsha, as she was known to all of us.

She was predeceased by her ex husband Ken Hawbaker, who she remained a good friend with.

There will be a graveside service at Apples United Church of Christ Friday April 4th at 1:00 p.m
