Marlin Green

Mr. Marlin Spencer Green, 89 of Thurmont entered into the presence of his Lord on November 29, 2015 at Saint Joseph’s Ministries surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Gloriae Long Green. They were married on July 2, 1949 and have been married 66 years.

Born December 27, 1925 in Lewistown he was the son of the late George & Lavina Green.

He was an active member of the Lewistown Methodist Church where he also taught Bible study. He was a past member of the Lewistown Fire Company and a member of the Lewistown Ruritans.

Marlin graduated from Frederick High school in 1942. He joined the Air Force and served in WWII from 1945-1947.

He worked for HB Duvall from 1943-1989 and at the Thurmont Coop from 1989 until his retirement in 2004.

Marlin enjoyed gardening and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to his loving wife Gloriae he is survived by his son, Eric S. Green and wife Ruth, grandchildren, Sayward Lippincott and husband Kevin, Olivia Green and Devin Green and wife Brianne, great grandchildren, Thaddeus and Spencer, a sister, Maxine Hornberger and husband Robert and brother-in-law, Jim Dukes. He will also be remembered by his numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his son, Randall Eugene Green, brother, Charles Edward Green, a sister, Susan Dukes and a sister-in-law Ruth Green.

Services will be held at the Lewistown Methodist Church, 11032 Hessong Bridge Rd., Thurmont on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at 11:00AM.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Lewistown Methodist Church, 11032 Hessong Bridge Rd., Thurmont, MD 21788.
