Beloved Mother and Wife Marlene M. McVeagh passed on Monday August 6th, 2012 after a long battle with a chronic illness.
She was born in Baltimore, MD on September 13, 1935 to parents Madeline and William Kowalski. In 1961 she relocated to Frederick where she resided for 20 years. During that time she worked for the Frederick County Commission on Aging, where she made a positive difference in the lives of many of the county's elderly residents.
For the past 25 years, she was a resident of Hagerstown, and was fortunate to enjoy the love and support of a wide network of friends.
Marlene is survived by her devoted husband of 33 years Hugh D McVeagh Jr of Hagerstown, additionally her three children Steven Brady, Kathleen Brady de la Paz, and Bruce McVeagh. Lastly her true joy, her ten grandchildren: Dane Brady, Deven Brady, Joseph Fleming, Jacqueline Brady, Samantha Fleming, Isabella McVeagh, Claire de la Paz, Sydney de la Paz, Hugh McVeagh, and Madeline McVeagh.
The family will receive friends on Thursday August 9th from 5:00 until 8:00pm at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday August 10th at 11:00am at St Joseph's Church at 17630 Virginia Ave. in Hagerstown with Rev. Christopher P. Moore officiating.
After the mass a Procession to the grave site at Rest Haven Cemetery in Hagerstown for burial will take place and finally a reception back at St Joseph's.
