Marlene R. Kelley, 88, of Hagerstown, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 27, 2021.
Born on June 11, 1932, in Yarrowsburg, she was the daughter of the late John A. and Eleanor (Nokes) Bowers. She was the wife of the late Marvin F. Kelley.
She was a 1950 graduate of Boonsboro High School. She was retired from Fairchild Aircraft and Rohr Industries, and had worked at BFGoodrich.
Marlene was a member of the Brownsville Church of the Brethren in Knoxville, MD.
She is survived by her daughter, Y. Renee Doub and husband, Shawn, of Hagerstown; grandson, Christian Doub and wife, Kirstyn of Hagerstown; granddaughters, Saylor Doub of Hagerstown, Sarah Yelton and husband, Jesse, of Gainesville, VA, Lauren DeLauder and husband, Farrar of Lignum, VA, Rachel Crane and husband, Stuart, of Midland, VA, Maranda Bowers of Albany, NY; great-grandchildren, Olivia and Levi Yelton, Wade DeLauder, and Stuart Crane, IV; and her brother, Arthur "Jack" Bowers of Keedysville.
Marlene was preceded in death by her son, Randy A. Bowers; her sisters, Lois Howser, and Wanda Rohr; and her brothers, John "Ching" Bowers, Jr., James "Bill" Bowers, and Robert "Dope" Bowers.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro.
A celebration of Marlene's life journey will take place at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 3, 2021, at Brownsville Church of the Brethren, 1911 Rohrersville Road, Knoxville, MD with Revs. Calvin F. Park and R. Thomas Fralin, Jr. will officiate. Final resting place ceremonies will be held at the adjoining church cemetery.
