Mark Alan Reed

Mr. Mark Alan Reed, 51, of Mt. Airy died on Tuesday March 16, 2010 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Susan L. Reed.

Born in Cumberland, Maryland on May 24, 1958, he was the son of William P. Reed Sr. and Naomi Willetts Reed of Charlestown, WV.

Mark worked for GEICO for 28 years and was currently director of H.R.I.S. He was an avid softball player, coach, and spectator and at one time was very involved in L.U.Y.A.A. He was an active member of Faith Community Church where he served on the board.

Surviving in addition to his wife and parents are two children Christopher Alan Reed and Samantha Lynn Reed of Mt. Airy. Brothers William P. Reed Jr. and his wife Elaine of Ranson, WV., Jess Reed and wife Sharon of Damascus and Wayne Reed and wife Niecee of Ranson, WV. Mother and father in law Stephen Bennett and wife Elsa of Dover, DE. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Visitation will be held on Sunday March 21, at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 East Ridgeville Blvd. Mt. Airy, from 2-4 & 7-9pm.

Services: Funeral Services will be held on Monday March 22, 11:00am at the Faith Community Church, 1134 Long Corner Road, Mt. Airy, MD, 21771. Pastor Ken Kendall will officiate. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.

Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Faith Community Church which will then be donated to the cause of Speed the Light.
