Mark Edward Nylec, 52, of Adamstown, Maryland, died suddenly and unexpectedly on September 27, 2020 while at the beach with his wife and friends. Mark was born on October 7, 1967 in London, England to Nicholas Nylec Sr. and Dellys (Rustan) Nylec.
To everyone’s amazement, Mark graduated from the University of Maryland in 1989. Following graduation, he worked for the Marriott Corporation, AOL, AARP and most recently worked as an email strategist for Gannett Co., Inc. He had a successful career due to his incredible wit, his general disdain for stupidity and his path of least resistance philosophy.
He married his high school sweetheart Deborah (Hubbard) on March 27, 1993. Together they were described as “relationship goals.” He was a devoted husband, loving father, and natural comedian. He was a kid at heart with occasional curmudgeon tendencies. He was born without a serious bone in his body which made for a marriage and a house full of laughter. Mark enjoyed volleyball, eating, gadgets, reading, apple fritters, Amazon Prime, and most of all, spending time with his beloved family and friends.
He was predeceased by his father Nicholas Nylec in 2014. Surviving in addition to his wife Deb are his son Thomas, and daughter Rebecca; mother, Dellys; brother Nicholas (Sharon;) in-laws, Jim and Judy Hubbard; sister-in-law Valerie Webdell (Jeanne) and nieces, Sophia Webdell and Mia Webdell, multiple cousins, aunts and uncles from Minnesota and Texas, his Austrian family, and so very many friends.
There will be a celebration of Mark’s life with a service at 1:00 pm October 3, 2020 at Utica District Park, Pavilion #1, 10200-B Old Frederick Road Frederick, MD, 21701.
