Mark Alexander Newman

Mark Alexander Newman, 44, passed from this life on Tuesday, February 11, 2025.

Born on March 13, 1980 in Pennsylvania, Mark was the son of Timothy Newman and Rita (Keebler) Newman and brother to Hillary Newman.

Mark was a Software Engineer and Data scientist during his working career. He earned his PhD in Data Science from Harrisburg University in 2024. He was employed there as a Professor of Data Science, before moving on to Devis, as a Senior Software Engineer.

 Mark enjoyed going on Caribbean Cruises and splashing around at Water Parks. He also loved sharing a good meal with friends and family, unwinding by reading or gaming, and using various STEM toys to build with his son, Rory. Mark had a keen interest in engineering and experiencing new technology.

An Eagle Scout of troop 476 in Middletown, MD; Mark and his character reflected the values of the organization. He was a dedicated and reliable friend who never hesitated to help a person in need and always brought a new perspective to any situation. Mark was motivational and inspiring, but also funny, kind, and earnest. No matter the situation he found himself in, Mark always made the best of it and came out learning something. He truly cared for those around him and continually strived towards greater things. Mark touched the lives of everyone he interacted with, leaving lasting impressions. 

Besides his parents, Timothy and Rita and his sister, Hillary; Mark is survived by his wife and son, Trinette and Rory Newman. Mark will be lovingly remembered by those who knew him and counted him as friend and family.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A. 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick, MD.

A celebration of Mark's life journey will take place at 2:00 pm on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at the funeral home. Pastor Greg Shook will officiate.
