Mr. Mark S. Harding, Sr., 58, of Boonsboro, MD., passed away suddenly on Thursday, August 2, 2012.
Born July 9, 1954 in Bethesda, MD., he was the son of Bernice Bovey Harding of Boonsboro and the late James E. Harding.
In earlier years Mark was employed as a policeman in Montgomery and Prince Georges County and was Chief of Police in Sugarlock, MS. He then went on to work as a Security Officer at Ridgeview Middle School and was presently employed as a Security Officer at Quince Orchard High School. Mark was a member of NRA and the National Wild Turkey Federation. He was an avid sportsman, hunter and outdoorsman and had played semi-pro football with the Frederick Falcons. He loved spending time with his family, barbeque with “Moose Pit” and reunions with Richard Montgomery High School.
He is survived by his children Mark S. Harding, Jr. and life partner Katherine Scheel of New Market and Cheyenne Harding of St. Petersburg, FL, grandchildren Savannah Scheel , Morgan and Greyston Harding, siblings Gail Harding of Boonsboro, James E. Harding Jr. and wife Carol of Hedgesville, WV and Brian Harding of Boonsboro, Many nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD on Monday, Aug 6 and Tuesday, Aug 7, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., where services will be held Wednesday, August 8, at 11:00 am.
