Marjorie Van Sant

Marjorie Robinson Van Sant passed away April 24 ^th at FMH. She was residing in Lorien Mt. Airy where she loved the staff and cherished her friendship with her roommate Louise Long.

She was born in Clintonville, West Virginia, on June 20 ^th 1923. She was the daughter of the late Guy A. and Elsie Hedrick Robinson. She graduated from Mt. Airy High School in 1942. Marjorie was married to Hanford Van Sant for 58 years who predeceased her February 20, 2003. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Mt. Airy, and a member of the Eastern Star Chapter in Mt. Airy. She partnered with her husband, Hanford, in starting Van Sant Plumbing and Heating where she worked for over 60 years.

Surviving is her son Larry Van Sant Sr., his wife Joyce, two grandsons, Larry Van Sant Jr. and Jeffrey Van Sant, their fiancées Lydia Haley and Helen Donovan. Also surviving is her brother Carroll Robinson and his wife Flossy, sister Joanne Stallings and their niece and God Daughter Sandra Stallings, her brother in laws, Allen Van Sant and Donald Van Sant and his wife Ann, Sister in laws, AnnaBell Bidinger and her husband Francis, Ruth Bennet and her husband Edwin along with numerous nieces and nephews. Marjorie loved Mt. Airy and her family and friends who brought her great joy.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 & 7-9pm on Wednesday April 27, at the Stauffer Funeral Homes P. A., 8 East Ridgeville Blvd, Mt. Airy, where funeral services will be held on Thursday April 28, 11:00am in the funeral home. The Reverend Jen Karsner will officiate. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Mt. Airy.
