Marion Stroh

Mrs. Marion Betty Stroh, 93, of Mt. Airy, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at Lorien Mt. Airy where she lived since 2013. Born in Frederick on June 18, 1923, she was the daughter of Harry C. and Bertha Brashears Betson and was a 1940 graduate of Frederick High School.
Betty was a homemaker and for many years sold cosmetics part time. She and her husband Bill enjoyed welcoming children of all ages into their home and every child who came to her door left with cookies and a smile. Betty was a devoted wife, loving mother and doting grandmother.
Surviving are her daughter, Marsha Shuler of Richmond, VA, one grandson, William “Stroh” Shuler of Coeburn, VA and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great- nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, William R. Stroh, who died in 2007 and by her brother Ralph and sister Mildred.
The family will receive friends from 3-5 and 7-8:30 PM on Tuesday, August 2 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 E. Ridgeville Blvd, Mt. Airy, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 3. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Mt. Airy.
