Marina Sandoval

Marina "Mimi" Lilia Sandoval, 93, of Jefferson, MD was called to her eternal home on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Born January 1, 1925 in El Salvador, she was the daughter of the late Ezequiel and Enriqueta Paez de Sandoval.

Her dream was to move to the United States with her daughters which she accomplished by becoming a citizen in 1976. Passionate about sewing, she worked as a coveted seamstress, proudly contributing her talent to the "Stitching History" project for the Maryland Historical Society. A desire to travel led her to countries all over Europe with her family. Daily happiness derived from cooking, baking, knitting, music, and embracing nature. Lifelong memories were created by her love of photography and capturing every moment. She was a devout Catholic and cherished her faith. She established a strong and forever-lasting family dynamic filled with love, laughter, and togetherness.

A very much-loved mother, she is survived by her two daughters Sonia Carrier (Dean) and Silvia Schmiester (Michael). She was a proud and loving grandmother to Matthew Carrier, Paul Carrier, George Schmiester, and Ericka Schmiester. She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Zoila de Minero, Irma de Regalado, and Jose Sandoval.

The family will receive friends at St. Joseph-on-Carrollton Manor Catholic Church, 5843 Manor Woods Rd., Frederick, MD 21703 on Saturday, February 3, 2018 from 11AM-12PM where a memorial mass will begin at 12PM.

Interment will be private.
