On Tuesday, January 20, 2009 Marie V. Stauffer slipped the bonds of Earth to rejoin her beloved parents, the late Claude S. and Emma J. Hahn.
Marie was the wife of George Clayton Stauffer of Walkersville, whom she married in 1991.
Surviving in addition to her husband is a sister, Betty L. Randolph of Idaho Falls, Idaho, a sister-in-law May G. Hahn of Frederick, a step-son, G. Douglas Stauffer and a stepdaughter, Sharon K. Barrick both of Walkersville.
She will also be remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews and step grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Charles M. Hahn and a sister, Dorothy J. Nikirk.
A native of Frederick, she graduated from Frederick High School, Hood College and received a masters degree from the University if Maryland where she taught beginning and scientific German as a graduate student.
She was formerly employed at Fort Detrick as a bacterio-logist and in 1990 retired from federal service as a cataloger at the National Library of Medicine in Bethesda.
Marie was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Frederick and also a life member of the FMH Auxiliary to which she gave over 5000 hours of service.
She was devoted to classical music (especially Mozart), to the God of her understanding, and to all things wise and wonderful, all creatures great and small.
She leaves behind cherished neighbors, Doris and Linda Cavell; a dear cousin, Barbara Bowers; special friends, Dick Clinton, Robert N. Staley, Noel Lester, Victor Masser, Cathy Wolfe, Laurel Cucchi, Linda Kesling, Diane Eskew of Las Vegas, and Solvejg Rozner of Hamburg, Germany.
Marie wishes to acknowledge and thank Drs. Afrookteh, Andochick, Crouch, Levine, McNeill, Segal, Tolino, Yu and all the personnel at Internal Medicine Association for their kind care through the years.
The family also wishes to thank the Glade Valley Nursing Home and Rehabilitation for all of their kindness and care.

Friends are welcome to attend her grave side service that will be held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery on Monday, January 26 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Ken Dunnington and Rev. Anjel Scarborough officiating.
Everyone is to meet at the Mt. Olivet Chapel at 12:45 PM.
