Marie Stambaugh

Marie A. Stambaugh, 92, of Rocky Ridge, passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at Northampton Manor Health Care Center. She was the wife of the late James Franklin Stambaugh, who preceded her in death in 2022. Born on September 11, 1932, she was the daughter of Martin Kaas and Bernadette (Orndorff) Kaas.

She was a farmer's wife and homemaker. The church was the joy of her life. She was one of the first ladies to serve on the church council, and was a Sunday School teacher for years, serving as the treasurer. She loved to work at Mount Tabor Park. She loved to be with her family, and loved to have picnics in their picnic area in the woods. She loved to take Bus Trips with her friends. Marie was a member of Mt. Tabor UCC Church of Rocky Ridge, and was a member of the quilting group. She made a lot of small quilts to give away.

She was survived by her children Eugene Franklin Stambaugh of Rocky Ridge, and Wayne Allen Stambaugh and wife Cecelia of Rocky Ridge; grandchildren Edward E. Stambaugh and wife Kristin of Fairfield, PA, James M. Stambaugh of Rocky Ridge, Chazalynn Hackney and husband Clint of Fayetteville, PA and Heather N. Koontz and husband Keith of Emmitsburg; great-grandchildren, Gage Hackney, Colton Hackney, Payton Stambaugh, Ashlyn Stambaugh, Addison Koontz, Aiden Koontz and Owen Koontz. She is also survived by her siblings: Corrine Miller and husband Brook, Virginia Althoff and husband Edward, Rosalie Ferrebee and husband Wayne. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sisters, Rita Field and Ruth Seidel, brothers, David Kaas and Robert Kaas, as well as a daughter-in-law, Rosalie Stambaugh.

She will also be remembered by her special friends, Debbie Berg and Emma Lou Harris. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Marie's hospice nurse, Eric, and caregiver, April, for the care they gave in her final days.

The family will receive friends on Friday, December 20th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Mt. Tabor U.C.C., 10043 Longs Mill Road, Rocky Ridge. A funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation at 11:00 a.m.. Interment will be at Mt. Tabor U.C.C. Cemetery.

 In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Tabor Sunday School at the above address.
