Marie Spindle Hughes Rippeon

Mrs. Marie S. Rippeon, 84, of Frederick, Maryland, went to be with her Lord and other loved ones preceded by her on Friday, December 12, 2014 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the loving wife of the late Oscar R. Rippeon.
Born July 29, 1930 in Ammisville, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late William and Helen L. Peyton Hughes.
Mrs. Rippeon’s family moved to Maryland when she was a young child and was raised on the family farm in Lewistown, MD. She was a 1947 graduate of Frederick High School. The majority of her life was spent as a homemaker; raising her 5 children. Her favorite pastime was having the grandchildren visit, who will always remember the many life lessons she taught them.
Mrs. Rippeon is survived by her four daughters and one son, Cynthia D. Hewitt and husband Donald of Frederick, MD; Teresa M. Pertee and husband Raymond of Inwood, W.V.; Karen C. Crum and husband Rick of Woodsboro, MD and Tamara J. Bales and husband David of Thurmont, MD and Robert L. Rippeon of Brunswick,MD, 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 3 step great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, three sisters Nina Esworthy, Dorothy Fogle and Naomi Lavoto. She was preceded in death by her brothers Raymond Hughes and Charles Hughes, a great grandson Christopher Goldzwig.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, Tuesday December 16, from 2-4 and 6-8:00 pm, where service will be held Wednesday, December 17, at 11:00 am
