Mrs. Marie S. Moriarty, 78, of Monrovia died Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the loving wife of John E. Moriarty.
Born November 11, 1934 in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of Fred and Ella Mills Ferriola.
She was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family. Mrs. Moriarty owned an antique business for many years in Buckeystown. She was a longtime member of the Damascus Homemakers for many years and a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, Thomas Moriarty of West Virginia; Stephen Moriarty and wife, Denise of Lake Heritage, P.A.; and David Moriarty and wife, Karen, of Fairfield, P.A.; 17 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
She was predeceased by a son, John Moriarty; daughter-in-law, Mary Moriarty; two brothers, Fred and John Ferriola; and a sister, Florence Pearson.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, June 2, 2013 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 8 E. Ridgeville Blvd., Mt. Airy. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 3 from St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church, 4103 Prices Distillery Road, Ijamsville. Officiating will be Father Michael J. Jendrek.
Interment to follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
