Mrs. Marie Lydard Hueting, 75, of Frederick, passed away Sunday, December 13, 2020, at Frederick Health Hospital. For more than 55 years, she was the loving wife of Tom Hueting, whom she married on March 9, 1965.
Born March 17, 1945, in Frederick, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Dorothy (Morningstar) (Lydard) Stup; she had nine siblings.
Marie graduated from Frederick High School in 1963. In 1965, she graduated from Catherine Business School in Cumberland, Maryland. After Marie and Tom were married, they moved across the country to Spokane, Washington, where Tom was stationed in the U.S. Air Force. In 1968, when Tom was discharged from the military, they moved back to Frederick and he began his career with AT&T. Marie worked at Stoffer Sanner Insurance Company from 1968 to 1977, when her daughter Dawn was born and Marie became a stay-at-home mother. In 1980, when Tom was transferred, the family moved to Somerville, New Jersey. Their daughter Dara was born in 1982. Later that year, they moved back to Frederick.
Marie was a longtime, faithful member of Evangelical Christ Reformed United Church of Christ in Frederick. She loved to read and to go to the beach, the casino, and shopping. Marie was also a big fan of Elvis Presley. But most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Marie and Tom were so proud to take their entire family to Walt Disney World in 2019-the trip of a lifetime. Marie was generous, thoughtful, and kind hearted. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her two daughters and their families: Dawn Murphy, her husband Brian, and their children Logan, Reagan, and Morgan; and Dara Ledford, her husband Brodie, and their son Everett.
