Mrs. Marie Bernadette Geisinger, 83, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at her home. She was the wife of Joseph Daniel Geisinger for 62 years.
Born on July 13, 1927 in Carroll County, MD she was the daughter of the late Roger B. and M. Eleanor Gardner Knott.
Marie enjoyed sewing and tending to her flower beds.
Surviving in addition to her husband are her two daughters Jeanne M. Geisinger and Kathleen A. Flook and friend David Wolfe of Jefferson, MD; six sons Joseph M. Geisinger and friend Joyce Jesnick of Laytonsville, Daniel L. and Marie Geisinger of Middletown, MD, Keith D. Geisinger and Susan Ridenour of Frederick, MD, Gary F. and Becky Geisinger of Chambersburg, PA, Jeffrey A. and Patricia Geisinger of Thurmont, MD, Timothy L. and Kimberly Geisinger of Brunswick, MD and daughter-in-law Debra Geisinger; grandchildren Michael W. and Dixie Geisinger, Marsha E. and Charles Willard, Amber N. and Danny Ripeon, Jr., David K. and Kimberly Geisinger, Amy E. and Brett Ramsburg, Lucas W. Ridenour, Justin C. and Doreen Geisinger, Lacy Geisinger, Christina M. and Kane Stoner, Samantha L. Geisinger, Brianna N. Geisinger, Shawn D. Geisinger, Ashley L. and Justin Hiser and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins; brothers Paul and JoAnne Knott, Thomas and Margaret Knott, William P. and Martha Knott; brother-in-law Charles L. Geisinger and sister-in-law Beryl Fowler. Marie will also be remembered by Joan Knott of Mt. Airy, Mary Knott of CT, Mary Knott of WV and John C. Flook of Smithsburg.
The family would like to offer thanks to Hospice of Frederick Co. and the staff of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
Friends may call from 6-9 PM on Thursday, May 12 at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 13 at St. Joseph-on-Carrollton Manor Catholic Church 5843 Manor Woods Road, Frederick, MD 21703-7912. Father Lawrence Frazier will be the celebrant.
Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Frederick County, P.O. Box 1799, Frederick, MD 21702.
