Marie S. France, 96, died Monday, March 23, 2015 at Homewood at Plum Creek, Hanover, PA. She was born May 6, 1918 to the late George and Genevieve Sacks in Baltimore, Maryland. She was the oldest of eight children.
Marie worked as a secretary and retired from Maryland State Roads. During WWII, she worked in a sewing factory.
Marie is preceded in death by her husband Charles E. France and son, Charles E. France II. She is survived by her daughter, Anita Elaine Cunningham and son-in-law, Thomas Cunningham, of East Berlin, PA; daughter-in-law, Carol France of Frederick, Maryland; brothers, Norman Sacks and Charles Sacks; sister, Joan Horvath; as well as five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial celebration will be held at a later date.
