Marie Eyler

Marie Catherine Eyler, 78, of Gettsyburg, PA, died on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at her home.
Born June 14, 1938 in Thurmont, MD, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Hazel (Hewitt) Dewees.
Marie worked as a housekeeping supervisor at the National Emergency Training Center in Emmitsburg for over 30 years. She just recently retired at the end of February 2017. Prior to that, she worked at Freeman Shoe Company in Emmitsburg.
She enjoyed golf, sewing, crocheting, crafts and needle work.
Marie was a loving mother and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by three children, Debbie Eyler (Robert Thompson) of Gettysburg, PA, David Eyler, and Jeanne Davis, both of Emmitsburg; two granddaughters, Natalie Johnson and Danielle Eyler; four brothers, Robert, C. Richard, Harvey and Tom Dewees; and a sister, Shirley Ridenour.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by five brothers, Merle, John, Ray (Pete), Irving, and William Dewees.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main Street, Thurmont.
Interment will be private.
