Mrs. Marianne Hahn Stauffer, 73 of Frederick, MD passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at the Frederick Memorial Hospital.
Born January 24, 1941 in Frederick, MD she was the daughter of the late G. John Hahn and Helen Frances (Miller) Hahn.
Marianne was a graduate of Frederick High School Class 1959. She graduated from Catonsville Community College in 1984.
Marianne has been a part of Stauffer Funeral Homes since 1978. She became a licensed funeral director in the State of Maryland in 1985.
Marianne obtained a variety of memberships such as the, National Funeral Directors Association and Academy of Professional Funeral Service. She is a past board member of the Maryland State Funeral Directors Association, and has served as Secretary/Treasurer, Vice President, and President.
Marianne is a member of First Baptist Church in Frederick. She is also a past-member of Professional Advisory Group of Hospice of Frederick County, Thurmont Historical Society and an honorary member of Independent Hose Company.
She is survived by a daughter, Robin Hilk and husband Tom of Frederick and a son, Scott A. Shorrow and wife Kayla of Frederick, four grandchildren, Eric Handley, Chadwick Handley, Jonathan Shorrow and Brayden Shorrow, a grandson on the way, Scott A. Shorrow, Jr, two step grandchildren, Ford and Hayden Hilk, two brothers, Donald Hahn and wife Harriett, Galen Hahn and wife Sandy, two sisters, Barbara Anson and husband Richard and Carol Freed and husband Wayne. She will also be remembered by her numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Sunday, September 14th from 1:00-4:00pm and 6:00pm-8:00pm. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, September 15th at 11:00am with Rev. Tim May officiating.
Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
