Marian A. Litz, 81, passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at Edenton Retirement Community in Frederick, MD. She was born in Colchester, England on December 29th, 1932 and previously lived in Princeton, NJ before relocating to Keedysville, MD.
After graduating cum laude from Hofstra University and receiving her master’s degree in Comparative Literature from Columbia University, Marian was a dedicated educator for 6 years in Hicksville, NY and Princeton, NJ prior to taking time to raise and care for her family. Later she returned to teaching, providing piano instruction and tutoring to children and young adults in her local community. Marian was an active member of the Salem United Methodist Church community in Keedysville, MD where she continued to share her love for music and sang with the choir and played the organ.
Marian is predeceased by her parents, Ida V. Weller and Ernest G. Weller, and brothers Sam, Ernest and Walter. She is survived by her brothers Robert and Eric and sisters Audrey and Janet, also survived by her four children Katharine, Andrew, Victoria and Emily and six grandchildren.
