Maria Isabel Melendez

Maria Melendez, 69, of Germantown, Maryland, passed from this life on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital in Rockville, MD. She was the loving wife of Mario Melendez.

Born on April 22, 1953 in San Salvador, she was the daughter of Antonio Ramirez and Maria Santos (Hernandez) Hernandez.

She started working as a babysitter in 1999. She worked for the Scott’s, Luchsingers, Pearsons, Azevedos, Fussells, and Jones.

Maria loved to cook, dance, go shopping and listen to music.

She is survived by two daughters, Liseth Lievano and Valeria Chavez; son, Allan Lievano; grandchildren: Dayanara, Nicole, Dylan, Isabella, Arianna, and Hannah; and siblings, Ana Maria Hernandez and Rosa Emilia Linares.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Friday, September 2, 2022 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 8 East Ridgeville Blvd. in Mt. Airy, MD. 

A celebration of Maria's life journey will take place at 3:00 pm on Friday, September 2, 2022, from the funeral home chapel.  Services will be live streamed, please click on link to livestream in the service schedule.
