Mrs. Marguerite M. Lange, 82, of Mt. Airy, MD passed away Monday, April 9, 2012 at Lorien of Mt. Airy . She was the wife of the late Richard B. Lange and was also preceded in death by her first husband John R. "Jack" Parks, Sr.
Born November 29, 1929 in Baltimore, MD she was the daughter of the late William E. and Bertha Louise Duffy Harrison.
Mrs. Lange enjoyed being a homemaker and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Marguerite was gregarious and vibrant and was well liked by everyone around her. She was an avid quilter and the last member remaining from the Morgan Chapel quilting group. Marguerite enjoyed canning, making jams and jellies and even wine. She loved to baby sit and care for her family and neighbors children, and was always available to help out.
She is survived by her children John R. Parks, Jr. of Elkridge, Deborah Yarnell and husband Don of Randalstown and Susan Fischer and husband Francis of Mt. Airy; grandchildren Joseph, John, Allison and Tommy and great-grandchildren Anthony and Joseph; sisters Theresa Fisher and husband William of Cooksville, Dorothy Cross of Atlanta, GA and Ellen Blackstock and husband Gordon of San Francisco, CA and brother John Harrison of L.A. , CA and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her brothers William, Walter, Paul and Thomas and brother-in-law Richard Cross.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home 8 E. Ridgeville Blvd., Mt. Airy on Thursday, April 12, 2012 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 1125 St. Michael's Rd., Mt. Airy on Friday, April 13, 2012 at 10:30 AM. Father Mike Ruane will be the celebrant.
Interment will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens.
