Mrs. Margie M. Stambaugh, 94, of Thurmont, died Sunday, February 24, 2013 at her home surrounded by her family.
Born October 14, 1918 in Wigville, she was the daughter of the late Victor and Ida Misner.
She loved making Angel bead figurines and doing crossword puzzles. Mrs. Stambaugh enjoyed spending time with her family. She especially adored her 8 month old great-great-grandson, Jesse. They had special time daily from 12:30 to 2 p.m. when they would catch up on their soap operas.
Mrs. Stambaugh loved tinkering around on the family farm and taking care of her variety of animals.
She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Gray of Suffolk, Va.; two granddaughters, Janice Carbaugh of Thurmont and Cindy Maga of Charles Town, W.Va.; her grandson, Edward Gray, Jr. of Suffolk; a great-granddaughter, Maria Lynn Armann of Thurmont; her great-great-grandson, Jesse William Armann; a sister, Fannie Ridge of Thurmont; and many additional family members.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Bertha M. Carbaugh on February 11, 2011; and her longtime companion, Jesse R. Wiles on September 6, 2003.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 28 2013 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 104 E. Main Street, Thurmont, where services will begin at 11 a.m. Funeral celebrant will be Jacqui Kreh.
Interment will follow in Creagerstown Cemetery.
