Margaret "Peggy" Lewis

Margaret "Peggy" Louise Lewis, 71, of Boonsboro, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, Maryland.  She was the beloved wife of Dale Lewis, Jr. for 47 years.

Born on September 27, 1950, in Hagerstown, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Robert W. and Janet Imogene (Swain) Shumaker.

Peggy was a 1968 graduate of Boonsboro High School.  Peggy worked for many years at Boonsboro Produce Market.  She was a member of Church of Christ at Hagerstown. Peggy was a loving, wife, mother and grandmother and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a friend to so many and they all loved her very much.  Peggy was an inspiration to everyone that knew her and will be missed by all.

In addition to her husband she is survived by daughter, Tammy Wolfe and husband Mark of North Carolina, son, JR Byrd and wife Tina of Boonsboro and daughter, Jill Waters and husband Buck of Keedysville; grandchildren, Caroline and Preston Wolfe, Kiersten, Rylee and Landon Waters and Eliza and Giana Byrd; sisters, Robin Wilson and husband Dwaine of Boonsboro, Lori Smith and husband Mark of Boonsboro and Debbie Wentzell of Boonsboro and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services and interment will be private.
