Margaret Elizabeth {Maggie} Rice

Mrs. Margaret Elizabeth Maggie Rice, 87, of Frederick died Friday - October 9, 2009. She was the wife of 64 years to the late Russell E. Rice Sr.

Born on June 27, 1922 in New Market, she was the daughter of the late George W. Tregoning and Mae Mercer Tregoning.

Maggie was a homemaker. Her hobbies included bingo, bowling, playing cards, horse racing and making beautiful quilts. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren & great grandchildren.

She is survived by her children: Russell E. Rice Jr. and wife Gloria of Frederick, Jeannette E. Krogman and husband David of Colorado, Alice M. Hodges and husband Walt of Frederick and Kenneth N. Rice and wife Nancy of Frederick; 11 grandchildren: Jamie Charney and husband Keith, Gail Eye, Chris Youngerman and husband David, Connie Cline & husband Mike, Misti DeGrange and husband Jeremy, David Rice, Rick Rice , Ryan Rice and wife Christie, Candice Dennis and husband Curtis, Nicole Montecino and husband Larry, Steve Hodges and wife Mindy, 21 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Also surviving, sister in law Mazie Tregoning, brother in laws Maynard Rice and wife Charlotte and Mantz Michael and numerous nieces and nephews. Maggie also is survived by her dear devoted friend Gladys.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters.

Visitation: Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm Monday, Oct. 12 at Stauffer Funeral Home 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick.

Services: Services will be held at 11am Tuesday at the funeral home chapel. Rev. Lloyd E. Fuss will officiate. Serving as pallbearers will be Maggie's grandsons and grandsons in law; David, Rick, Ryan, Keith, Mike, David and Jeremy.

Interment Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
