Margaret E. Stanley, 83 of Frederick, Maryland passed away on Monday, May 26, 2008 at the Kline Hospice House. She was the wife of the late Lawrence M. Stanley.
Born March 25, 1925 in Frederick she was the daughter of the late Robert Earl Walters and Margaret Walters Allocco.
She was a life member of the VFW Auxiliary No. 3285, a Past Noble Grand-Current Treasure of the Samaritan Rebekah Lodge No. 51, associate member Naomi Rebekah Lodge No and the current secretary, past president Rebekah Assembly of Maryland, President of the Department Association, L.A.P.M Maryland, Secretary of Monumental Auxiliary No. 2 L.A.P.M., Committee member of the Pilgrimage to the Tomb of the Unknown annual wreath laying ceremony, she assisted in Sunday church services for the residents at the College View Nursing Home, member and current community services chairman of AARP Chapter 636 and she provided Bingo for the residents of Montevue Home each month with the other members of the AARP Chapter 636.
She is survived by three daughters, Merchie Chowning of Westminster, Cindy Mulligan and husband Wayne of South Carolina and Mary Ann Keesler and husband Kevin of Ohio a son, Lawrence Stanley of Baltimore, seven grandchildren, Dave Foreman, Larry and Brian Miller, Kimberly Keesler, Krista, Robbie and Jessie Stanley, a great granddaughter, Sofie Miller, two sisters, Nora King and Grace Burch.
She will also be remembered by her nieces, nephews, and her other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and William Walters.
Visitation: The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick Wednesday, May 28, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.
Services: Funeral services will be held at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Thursday, May 29 at 11:00 AM with Rev. John Smith officiating. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park, Sykesville, MD.
