Margaret L. Wachter

Margaret L. Wachter , 97, of Mountaindale, Maryland, passed from this life on Friday, January 10, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert A. Wachter, Jr. (Bobby) for 64 years. 

Born on November 7, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Calvin and Mary Eaton Rice.

Margaret was married in 1948 to Robert they met in church. She was a resident of Citizens Rehabilitation Center of Frederick. Margaret retired from Frederick Co. Schools as a Cafeteria Worker after 28 years of service. She was a member of the Lewistown United Methodist Church where she enjoyed making black walnut pound cake for the suppers. Margaret loved to crochet and play bingo.

She is survived her sister Edna May Snyder and sister-in-law Judy Rice; son Larry Wachter (Vivian) of Frederick, daughter, Lou Ann Shankle (Oscar) of, Frederick, daughter, Marlene Lewis (Mark Hodgkins) of Fairfield, PA, son-in-law Williard Beahm of Mountaindale, MD: grandchildren, Becky Lann (John), Cheryl Tinworth (Matt), Stacy Biser (Gary, Jr.) of Wolfsville, April Kesselring (Bryan) of Emmitsburg, MD; great-grandchildren, Collin Lann, Gary Biser, III (Kayleigh Helm), Tyler Biser, Ashley Kesselring and great-great grandson Colton Biser. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Frances Beahm; brother, William Calvin Rice, Jr. and her sister Grace Keeney. 

A graveside service will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, January 16, 2025 at Mt. Prospect Church Cemetery, 11220 Angleberger Rd. in Thurmont, MD.
