Margaret Terrett

March 22, 1934 — February 21, 2013

Margaret “Ann” Terrett (78) passed away on February 21, 2013 at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, MD. She was born on March 22, 1934 in Washington, DC. to Hoomes T. and Margaret C. (Williams) Garner.

Ann grew up in Greenbelt, MD. She graduated from Northwestern Senior High School, Hyattsville, MD in 1953. After high school she worked for Dr.’s Minniberg and Rosenthal, Silver Spring, MD. and The Neurology Center, Chevy Chase, MD. as a receptionist. She and her husband owned and operated Town Center Sub and Pizza in Boonsboro, MD. from 1986-1995.

Ann married Robert Logan Terrett in 1957 in Silver Spring, MD.  They were happily married for 55 years. Ann was a member of Redland Community United Methodist Church, Homestead, FL and a former member of Salem United Methodist Church, Keedysville, MD.  Ann was an inspiration, a dream, an angel fallen from heaven.  She was a loving and caring mother, wife, best friend, and the best grandmother a grandchild could ever hope for. She enjoyed traveling the world with her loving husband; they unturned many a rock in their paths together.  She enjoyed camping with her family, while the children where young, and then later in life with her grandchildren.  She was a great friend, confidant, supporter, role-model; she was generous and self-less.  She was also a avid Bingo player and avid movie goer. Always wearing a smile, optimism was her way of life.  Ann was a fighter in all aspects of life, she jumped through many hurtles to get where she wanted to be, and it was always done with grace.  Ann had a purpose in this life, and she fulfilled it by all and any means.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents Hoomes T. and Margaret C. (Williams) Garner; Brother Hoomes T. Garner; Sisters: Caroline V. Clark, Lillian Hoensee, Vera Mae Sowers, and Dawn J. Grover.

Ann is survived by her spouse Robert of Keedysville, MD.  Her son Robert “Bobby,” (Darletta) Terrett of Keedysville, MD.; daughter Susan, (Darrell) Barnes of Middletown, MD; her grandchildren: Cliffton Terrett, James, Kayla, and Jennifer Barnes, and Lacy Neat; her great grandchildren: Bronson Terrett; Jayden and Katelinn Neat; her 2nd adopted son Michael Keefauver, and her beloved poodle Precious.

A memorial service will be held at Salem United Methodist Church, 25 South Main Street, Keedysville, MD on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 11:00 AM. The Reverend Robert Brennan will be officiating. The family will meet with friends and relatives before the service.

Ann had a strong faith in God and in lieu of flowers the family requests donations made to Salem United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 25, Keedysville, MD. 21756 or Redland Community United Methodist Church, 18700 SW 248th Street, Homestead, FL  33031.
