Margaret Ann Seger, 77, of Union Bridge, Maryland, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and loved ones, on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at Frederick Health Hospital.
Born on August 22, 1947, in Johnson City, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Robert Henry Miller and Mary Evelyn (Franklin) Miller.
A 1967 graduate of Howard High School, “Annie” embraced the everyday joys of family life, cooking, caring, and creating a warm and welcoming home. She had a special gift for hospitality, always opening her door to family, friends, and even strangers for a Sunday meal. She found her greatest joy and pride in her grandchildren, cherishing every moment spent cheering them on, spoiling them, and watching them grow. She often said they were her greatest blessing.
Guided by her strong faith, Annie spent 55 years as a devoted Sunday school teacher, always ready with a kind word, a helping hand, or a heartfelt prayer. Her church family was deeply important to her, and she considered them an extension of her own. She also expressed her love through her hands, lovingly crafting blankets for her family, gifts that became treasured keepsakes for those who received them.
She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Donald Seger; her children, Sandra Flook and her husband Brandon, and Tim Seger and his wife Katie; and her adored grandchildren, Joseph, Elizabeth, Emily, Wyland, Kinsley, Evelyn, and Aven. She was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Angelica and Nolan, who brought light and laughter into her later years. She is also survived by her sister, Janet Hobbs, and her husband Stevie, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Daniel Seger, whom she held close to her heart every day; and her sister Helen Pettie.
Though deeply missed, Annie’s love for her Lord will be remembered by all who knew her. Let us celebrate a life well lived, now in the arms of Jesus.
A celebration of Margaret's life will be announced at a later date.
