Margaret Sayler

Mrs. Margaret Sayler, 92, of Thurmont, died on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at her home. She was the wife of the late Harry C. Sayler.

Born on August 16, 1923 in Rocky Ridge she was a daughter of the late Harvey T. and Bessie (Eckenrode) Clem. Mrs. Sayler was a life member of Graceham Moravian Church, Thurmont, where she was the eldest female member and member of the Ladies Aid. Prior to her retirement she was employed with Moore Business Forms. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and was a caretaker of her special friends.

Surviving are 2 daughters; Frances M. Angleberger, Thurmont and Lois Ann Layman (Robert), Frederick, a sister Anna Ruth Burrier, Rocky Ridge, 5 grandchildren, Karen McAfee (Jeff), Brenda Genemans (Jan), Bryon Layman (Tammy), Stephanie Harrington (Paul), Shane Wivell (Kim), 8 great-grandchildren, Ashley, Justin, Joanna, Daniel, Abby, Elizabeth, Chris and Sarah, 3 great-great grandchildren, Mason, Ava, and Bricen. A son-in-law Samuel K Wivell.

She was preceded in death by a daughter Sandra Jean Wivell and a brother Harvey Clem, Jr. , brother-in-law Norman Burrier and son-in-law Allen Angleberger.

The family will receive friends at Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main St., Thurmont on Thursday, March 24th, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. where services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. with her pastor Rev. Sue Koenig officiating.
