It is with great sadness that the family of Margaret Elizabeth "Mickey" Oram announces her passing on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at the age of 85 at Frederick Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
She was born June 8, 1932, in Frederick, MD where she was a lifelong resident. Margaret was educated in the Frederick County school system graduating from Lincoln High School. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and long-time member of Madame C.J. Walker, Temple 509. She was employed by the Board of Education teaching at various elementary schools including, South Frederick (now Lincoln ES), East Frederick Elementary, and Parkway School before retiring after more than 20 years of service.
Margaret was known for her warm hospitality, generosity, love and compassion for others; always opening up her home to family and friends for a home cooked meal.
She is survived by her loving children, Debra Overs, Steven Oram, and Dawn Oram; devoted sister, Ann Oram; brother, Lawrence "Ted" Davis (Annie); four grandchildren, Maurice Boyd III, Tyanna Oram, Jamill Oram, and Dailan Oram; 15 great-grandchildren; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and special friends, Eleanor Davis and M. Elizabeth Battle.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret E. Davis; son, Dennis Oram, brothers, William B. and Richard D. Oram and Howard E. and Charles R. Davis; grandson, Lamont Oram, and nephew, Richard "Dickie" Oram.
A public viewing will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2018, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD.
A celebration of Margaret’s life will take place on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Asbury UMC, 101 W. All Saints St., Frederick, MD, with a public viewing at 10:00 a.m., and the Homegoing Service at 11:00 a.m.
