Mrs. Margaret T. Kamakaris, 90, of Frederick, Md., formerly of Sebastian, Fla. and Wellsville, NY, died Monday, December 3, 2012 at Tranquility Assisted Living in Frederick. She was the wife of the late George J. Kamakaris.
Born June 19, 1922 in Summit, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Gustav and Anna May Fulcher Patz.
She moved in 1987 from Wellsville to Sebastian where she became an active member of the Sebastian United Methodist Church. She served as the music director, playing piano and organ; the bell-choir director, and also the church secretary. She served on the Board of Directors for the Indian River County Library. In February 2010, she moved from Sebastian to Frederick, to be closer to her son and his family.
Mrs. Kamakaris is survived by three sons, Richard Kamakaris and wife, Pamela, of Frederick; James Kamakaris and wife, Joyce, of Dalton, NY; and David Kamakaris of Virginia Beach, Virginia; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a brother, Lawrence Patz of New Hampshire.
She also will be remembered by her former daughter-in-law, Yvonne Kamakaris.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Richard Patz and Ernest Patz.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m until 11 a.m. on Friday, December 7, 2012 at Sebastian United Methodist Church, 1029 Main Street, Sebastian, Fla. 32958. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. at the church. Officiating will be Pastor Richard Jones, and her nephew, Pastor Alan Patz, Garden City United Methodist Church, Jacksonville, Fl.
Interment will follow at Sebastian Municipal Cemetery.
