Mrs. Margaret "Nanny" Elizabeth Hughes, 86, of Brunswick, MD, passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Russell Hughes.
She was born February 27, 1926 in Jefferson County, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Charles and Maggie Virginia Morningstar Fellers.
Mrs. Hughes was an active member of the Faith Assembly of God Church in Brunswick where she was involved for many years in the Women's Ministries. Nanny and her husband "Pop Pop" resided in Baltimore for forty years and later returned home to the Brunswick Area for their final years. She was a faithful wife and was highly regarded as a magnificiant mother.
She is survived by her children Gary Hughes and wife Lois of Baltimore and Robin Turbin and husband Joe of Brunswick, three grandchildren, Jarrod Turbin and wife Tarin, Charles Hughes and wife Melissa and Christol Reinhardt and husband Frank, three great-grandchildren, Mikayla, Megan and Madalyn Reinhardt. She will also be remembered by many nieces, nephews, church members, neighbors and friends.
She was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 N. Maple Avenue, Brunswick on Friday, July 13, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at the Faith Assembly of God Church, Souder Road and Route 17 in Brunswick with Rev. Gary Heffler officiating.
Interment will be in the Brownsville Church of the Brethren Church Cemetery.
