Margaret Hofmann

Margaret R. Hofmann , 95, of Frederick, died Friday, November 17, 2017 at her home. She was the beloved wife of the late Lester H. Hofmann who preceded her in death in 2004.
Born on October 16, 1922, in Frederick, she was the last surviving of ten children to the late Jesse James Rippeon and Carrie (Crum) Rippeon.
Margaret moved to New York City in 1949, and then to New Jersey, where she was for many years a social worker for nursing homes in the Bayshore area of Monmouth County, NJ. She was an avid golfer and walker. She and her husband moved back to Frederick in 1987 to be with her surviving brothers and sisters
She is survived by son, Richard W. Hofmann; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday, November 24, 2017 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, where a funeral service will begin at 11.
Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
