Margaret Marie (Minnick) Haupt, 89, of Boonsboro, Maryland, passed peacefully from this life on Friday, October 12, 2012 at her home while surrounded by her family.
Born on November 19, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Carlton Luther and Lydia (Byrem) Minnick. Her husband of 52 years, Woodrow James "Bud" Haupt, preceded her in death in 2003.
Margaret was a homemaker and retired after twenty-two years of service as the head cook at Fahrney-Keedy Home & Village.
She was a member of Benevola United Methodist Church.
Margaret will be fondly remembered for her dedication to her family. She never wanted anyone to go hungry and everyone will miss her homemade potato chips. Her family extends special thanks to Hospice of Washington County for their loving compassion, and to her caregivers, Pauline Minnick and Lorrie Wilt.
She is survived by three children, Beverly and husband Ronald Talbert, Sr., Allan W. Haupt and wife Sandy, and Connie and husband Robert Talbert, Sr., all of Boonsboro; one sister, Geraldine Boyd, and one brother, William Minnick, both of Benevola; five grandchildren, Tina McNulty of Hagerstown; Robert Talbert, Jr. of Clear Spring, Ronald Talbert, Jr., Darren Talbert, and Lorrie Wilt, all of Boonsboro; and six great grandchildren, Lexie and Logen Wilt, Tyler McKenrick, and Abigail, Kirsten and Lakelyn Talbert. She is also survived by one great great granddaughter, Miley Marie McKenrick.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Margaret was preceded in death by three sisters, Polly Haupt, Patsy Seal and Louise Green; and three brothers; Preston, Paul, and Kenneth Minnick.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, October 14, 2012, at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro. A graveside ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 15, 2012 at Mt. Zion Cemetery, 20544 Benevola Church Road, Boonsboro.
