Margaret Ellis

Mrs. Margaret Ann Ellis of New Market, died at home on May 28, 2013 after a lengthy illness.  She was the wife of Robert Alton Ellis. Born July 18, 1930, near New Market, she was the daughter of the late Raymond C. and Annie M. Murray Warfield. She graduated from Frederick High School in 1947 and the University of Maryland School of Nursing in 1950.  Following a career in nursing at the University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore, she and her husband returned to their Frederick County farm near New Market in 1970, after which she became a homemaker and part-time real estate agent for a number of years. In addition to her husband, one sister, Vera Dischinger of Baltimore, and two brothers Rudy and Douglas Warfield, both of New Market, survive her.  She was pre-deceased by two brothers, Donald and Joseph Warfield.  Also surviving her are the following nieces and nephews, who have fond memories of their Aunt “Maggie”: David, Timothy, Michael, JoAnne, Susan, James, Justin, and Hannah Warfield; Pat, Judy and Janet Dischinger.  She was pre-deceased by niece Denise Williams and nephews Donald, Jr. and Zachary Warfield.  She is also especially remembered by nephew Kyle Warfield whom she thought of as a son. A memorial service is planned for a later date.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Margaret’s honor may be made to a charity of your choice.
