Margaret Hogsett

Margaret Carol Hogsett, 77, of Frederick, MD, died Friday, July 28 2017 at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
Born August 16, 1939 in Rainelle, WV to the late John H. and Lola Reaser Hogsett, she is survived by one sister ,Phyllis and spouse Robert Leonard of Wilmington, NC. Also surviving one nephew Christopher D. Lantz and wife Tracey, children Savannah Lantz and Jackson Lantz all of Wilmington, NC.
She was a graduate of West Virginia Wesleyan College and completed post graduate studies at various Maryland universities.
Margaret touched the lives of many, both young and old, through her gift of music and her love of people. She was instrumental in starting the Chancel Choir of Brook Hill United Methodist Church and served as its director for many years. She brought comfort to the residents of Golden Living Nursing Home while visiting and playing the piano for their Sunday worship services.
Margaret began her teaching career with the FCPS in 1961 and continued until her retirement. She taught at both Linganore High School and New Market Elementary. She was also active in various community organizations in Frederick County.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Monday, September 25 at Brook Hill United Methodist Church, 8946 Indian Springs Road, Frederick.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Brook Hill UMC Choir at the address above.
