Mrs. Marcella E. Jeffers, 95, of Frederick, MD went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, October 19, 2014 at FMH, under the care of Hospice of Frederick Co. She was the wife of the late William E. Jeffers.

Born January 21, 1919 in Washington, Kansas she was the daughter of the late Issac Purl and Wennona Moon Leidig.

Marcella was a Kansas farm girl that moved to Washington, D.C. and  worked as a telephone operator for C&P Telephone for 32 years.  She was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.  Marcella lived a long full life and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and loved spending time with her family.  In her spare time she enjoyed various crafts such as crocheting, working with stained glass and was a fabulous cook.  Marcella also enjoyed traveling and going out to eat.

She is survived by her children Kris Jeffers of Frederick, Gayle Jeffers Pickett and husband Bruce of New Market and Sheila Jeffers Hardesty and husband Jim of Romney, WV; grandchildren Amber Stone and husband Bobby, Heather Luaces, Melissa Luaces,  Kimberly Howell and husband Doug, Leslielyn Hardesty, Deanna Kivett, Mickey Kivett and Corey Kivett and numerous other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her brother Cecil Leidig and her sister Delma Howland.

The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Thursday, October 23, 2014 from 10-11AM where a funeral service will begin at 11AM.  Pastor Debra Linton, of Araby U.M.C. will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Frederick Co., P.O. Box 1799, Frederick, MD 21702.

Interment will be at a later date.
