Maliq Tyler Curtis

Maliq Tyler Curtis, a beloved son, brother, father, and friend, passed away on October 20, 2023, at the age of 26. His untimely departure has left a void in the lives of all who knew him. Born on February 23, 1997, in Silver Spring, Maryland, Maliq's journey was one filled with passion and creativity.

Maliq enjoyed the visual arts. His ability to bring his imagination to life through art was awe-inspiring and Maliq's love of art reflected the depth of his soul.

Music also held a special place in Maliq's heart. His love for music was infectious and he often found solace and inspiration within its harmonies.

He also found joy in physical activities like wrestling and football. Maliq's competitive spirit shone bright. 

Maliq's family meant everything to him. He was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Gloria Jean Russell and his brother Cordell Maliq Curtis.

His parents Tshaka Elisha Curtis and Gail Denise Russell Curtis will forever treasure the memories they shared with their cherished son. Despite the pain of loss they feel now, Maliq's spirit will continue to guide them through difficult times.

Maliq leaves behind a legacy of love as a devoted father to his children Caelyn, Leon, Delilah, and Isabella Curtis. He adored his children and cherished every moment spent with them. As a father, Maliq instilled in them the values of compassion, courage, and creativity that he held dear.

His siblings Tshaka Curtis Jr., Tykia Curtis, and Jade Curtis will forever cherish the bond they shared with Maliq. Through their laughter and tears, they found comfort in their shared memories and unconditional love for one another.

Maliq's life was also enriched by the presence of Claudia Collison, his special friend who stood by his side during challenging times. Her unwavering support brought comfort to Maliq's heart and exemplified the power of true friendship.

Throughout his brief time on this earth, Maliq touched the lives of many. His magnetic personality, kind heart, and infectious smile lit up every room he entered. His departure has left a void that can never be filled.

Though our hearts ache with grief, it is important to remember Maliq as he would want us to – celebrating all the joy and beauty he brought into our lives. Let us honor his memory by carrying forth his legacy of creativity, love, perseverance.
