Maisel R. Long, 91, of Frederick, passed away in her sleep on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at her residence. Born on September 19, 1932, in Rohrersville, MD, she was the daughter to the late Theodore D. and Ada C. Ritter. Maisel graduated from Frederick High School in 1950 and worked at Fort Detrick for several years where she met and married the late Bernard L. Long in 1955. She resided in Frederick for the past 58 years.
Maisel was a long-time, devoted member of Braddock Lutheran Church, serving as president of the church council for many years. Her interests included reading, knitting, sewing, and ceramics.
Surviving are her children, Linda Aguado and her husband Randolph; Timothy and his wife Shelley; Bryan and his wife Maura. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Francesca Aguado-Benner and her husband Cory; Daniel Long and his wife Tiffany; Chaz Aguado and Tyler Long.
Maisel is also survived by a nephew, Larry Underwood, and two nieces: Karen Felichko and Roberta Michael.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to National Federation of the Blind.
The family will receive friends on May 29 from 10 to 11 am at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick. A funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 AM in the chapel of the funeral home, followed by burial in the mausoleum at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Frederick.
