Mahlon M. Masser, 92 of Sabillasville, MD passed away peacefully at St. Catherine's Nursing Home, Emmitsburg, MD on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 . He was born March 29, 1924 in Thurmont, MD to Harry and Mary (nee Delauter) Masser. Mahlon is survived by his children, Margaret (Edward) Baker, Richard (Connie) Masser both of Sabillasville, MD and Wayne (Kathy) Masser of Waynesboro, PA; grandfather of Chris, Scott and Travis (MaryLou) Baker, Matthew (Kathy), Justin, and Brandon Masser; great-grandfather of Olivia, Levi, Shelby, Klara, Kaela, and Marley; brother of Chester (Marianna) Masser. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Marion Irene (nee Reddick) Masser, who died December 16, 2004 ; and 4 sisters and 4 brothers.
Mr. Masser was a member of Deerfield UMC and the Teamsters Union of Hagerstown both for over 60 years. He enjoyed playing softball in the church league well into his seventies, other hobbies included playing cards, dominoes, and camping.
There will be a graveside service and interment at Bethel Cemetery, Cascade, MD on Friday, October 28, 2016 at 11 am. Memorial service at Deerfield United Methodist Church, Foxville-Deerfield Road, Sabillasville, MD on Sunday, November 27, 2016 at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Deerfield UMC.
