Ms. Magdalene Zella Fuller, 87, of Frederick, died October 20, 2008 at Northampton Manor Nursing Home.
Born November 2, 1920 in Barling, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late Van and Zella Fuller.
Ms. Fuller was a member of the First Baptist Church of Frederick. She was a former Associate Dean of Nursing at Indiana University School of Nursing in Indianapolis, where she served for 25 years. She was named Professor Emeritus and was given the Distinguished Alumni Service Award as well as numerous other awards from the city of Indianapolis and the University. She worked on a committee for HUD for several years before retiring. She was active in the Indiana State Nurses Association, the Indiana Nurses Foundation and other professional organizations and was a well-known lecturer and writer.
Ms. Fuller is survived by her brother, Wayman Fuller of Ft. Worth, Texas, her nieces and nephews: Ann Whitehouse of Frederick; Joy Carr of Alma, Arkansas; Drucilla Fidler of Prairie Grove, Arkansas; David Cross of Prairie Grove, Arkansas; Duane Cross of Evansville, Arkansas; Marilyn Sue Blassingame of Mission, Texas; and Steve Fuller of Ft. Worth, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Opal Cross, and brother, Willie Fuller.
Visitation: The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 22, 2008 from 3:00-5:00 PM at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick.
Services:
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 23, at 1:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Frederick, 7040 Bowers Road, Frederick, MD with Rev. Dr. Larry Eubanks officiating.
Entombment will be private at Mt. Olivet Cemetery
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Scholarship Fund of the First Baptist Church or to their Building Fund.
