Mae Rippeon

Mae Retha Maxine Saunders Rippeon died September 1, 2011. She was born July 2, 1935 in Norman Park, GA, the daughter of the late James W. and Lola M. Williams Saunders. She is survived by her husband Vernon Robert Rippeon and two stepchildren, Vernon Richard Rippeon and his wife, Teresa of Westminster, MD and Katherine V. Rippeon of Frederick; 3 grandchildren Vernon Ryan, Elena Louisa and Patrick Ian Rippeon of Westminster; 1 brother W. Earl Saunders of Lakeland, FL; 3 sisters Edna Gay of Moultrie, GA, Ruthell Chambers of Pelham, GA and Nettie Durance of Wauchula, FL. She was predeceased by 5 brothers James B., Harry W., Noel J., Norman and Dilburn W. Saunders.

Mae Retha graduated from Boonsboro High School, class of ’53. She retired from the Maryland State Department of Health after 30 years of service in 1989. She was an avid golfer and enjoyed cooking and travel.

There will be no viewing. A memorial service will be held at All Saints Episcopal Church, 106 W. Church St., Frederick, MD 21701 on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at 1PM.
