Mae Fritz

Mae M Fritz , 92 , of Augusta, West Virginia, passed away on Friday, August 5, 2016, at Hampshire Memorial Hospital in Romney, West Virginia. She was the wife of the late David P. Fritz who died in 2004.

Born on March 9, 1924, she was the daughter of Edgar and Olive Chaffin Pertee.

She was a cook for White Star Restaurant in Frederick. Mae loved to quilt, sing and cook being known for her chicken and dumplings and cherry pies.

Mae was a member of The Church of Christ in Charles Town, WV where she was involved in many church activities.

She is survived by two sons: Ronald D. Workman and wife Deb of Middletown and Larry Workman and wife Jodie of Jefferson, a daughter, Sharon Long of Thurmont, a brother, Raymond L. Pertee and wife Teresa of Inwood, WV; two sisters: Nara Wilson of Logan, WV and Janice Collins and husband Clifford of Danville, WV; as well as numerous grandchildren and, great grandchildren including her granddaughter and caregiver, Karen Mullins with whom she resided until her recent illness.

Mrs. Fritz was preceded in death by three children: Jerry Marcum, Bobby R. Marcum and Charles E. Workman; a brother, John "Bud" Pertee, Jr., and sisters Bertha Pertee, Helen Damron and Juanita Ramirez.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 on Wednesday, August 10, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, where services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 11, with Rev. Tim May officiating.

Interment will follow at Locust Grove Church of the Brethren Cemetery in Mt. Airy, MD.
