M. Maxine Seekford, 85, passed away Monday, October 3, 2016 at her home in Boonsboro, Maryland.

Born on June 21, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd H. and Mayme Elwood (Rickard) Norris. Her husband, Monroe M. Seekford, preceded her in death.

Maxine received high school diploma at the age of 61, through the Maryland Adult External High School program in 1992.

Maxine was a member of the Willow Brook Seventh-day Adventist Church in Boonsboro.

Her interests were; her family, gardening, and church.

She is survived by her son, James M. Seekford and wife, Jennifer Robinson Seekford of Apopka, Florida and daughter, Janice F. Bitz of Baltimore, Maryland; three grandchildren, Jaime Seekford Heath, Jonathon M. Seekford and Joanna Seekford Corredor; eight great-grandchildren, Oliver, Caleb, Joshua, Jaina, Juliet, Ruby-Joy, Jackson and Emily.

Maxine was preceded in death by two sisters and five brothers.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, October 7, 2016, at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro with Pastor Volodymyr Grinchenko officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Hagerstown, Maryland.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday prior to services at the funeral home.

Memorials donations may be made to the church building fund, Willow Brook Seventh-day Adventist Church, 8916 Mapleville Road, Boonsboro, MD 21713.
