M. Rippeon

Mr. M. Eugene (Gene) Rippeon, 82, of Frederick passed away peacefully on May 28,2015 at his home. He was the loving husband of Dorothy J. Rippeon, his wife of 60 years.`
Born July 21, 1932 in Ceresville, he was the son of the late Frank Leslie and Virgie Mae (Nusbaum) Rippeon. He was raised in the Mt. Pleasant and Libertytown area, attended Liberty and Frederick High Schools, graduating in 1950. After graduation he worked at Potomac Edison as a meter reader before serving in the U.S. Army 1953-1955 as a cryptologist. After his military service he worked at the Frederick post office and retired from the Department of  Energy in 1989 as a management analyst with 31 years of service.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children Daryll Rippeon( Martha) of Frederick, Simone Albee( Robert) of Reisterstown, Lauren Rippeon(Cathy) of  Palmyra,Pa, grandchildren Ashton Monacelli(Patrick), Cyril Albee, Keenan Albee, Miranda Albee, Christopher Rippeon, Shaun Smith-Rippeon, Andrea Nikolova(Dimitar), great grandson Reijo Nikolov, sisters Anne Adams(Ben), Jill Schelfe(Nello), sister-in-law Noreen Stclair, and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by brother Jack Rippeon and  grandson Jackson Rippeon.
A memorial service will be held at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Saturday June 6 at 2pm with Rev. Scott  Clawson officiating. Visitation will begin at 1pm. Interment will be private.
