Mrs. Mary Charlotte Christie, 99, of Frederick, died on Sunday June 10, 2012. She was the wife of the late Raymond Luther Christie who died on June 15, 2001.
Born on January 4, 1913 in Indiana, PA., she was the daughter of the late Homer and Grace Dick.
She is survived by her daughter Beverly Phebus and husband Clark and son-in-law Oscar Smith. Grandchildren; Greg Smith, Laurie Smith, Charles Smith, Jennifer Hooper, Christopher Phebus, and Kimberly Alger. Nine Great Grandchildren. Also survived by her siblings, Harold Dick, Betty McCune and Janet Fisher. She was preceded in death by her daughter Barbara Smith, Grandson Glenn Smith, and sisters Meredith Luke and Margaret Speers.
Charlotte loved the Lord and shared His love. In earlier years she enjoyed duck pin bowling, traveling, and poetry. She always enjoyed playing board games. She was an Avon Representative from 1948 through 2001. She received many awards and retired at the age of 88.
Visitation will be held from 3-5 & 7-9pm on Wednesday June 13, 2012 at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday June 14, at the Emmanuel Alliance Church, 7102 Ladd Lane, Frederick, MD where the family will receive friends from 9:45am until 10:45am that morning. Reverend Stephen Kroh, Pastor will officiate.
Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in honor of Charlotte to Emmanuel Alliance Church 7102 Ladd Lane, Frederick, MD 21703.
